EXCLUSIVE: Deadline has learned that a reboot of Blake Edwards hit 1979 comedy 10 is happening at Warner Bros. with Legally Blonde‘s Karen McCullah and Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith writing. Sue Kroll, through Kroll & Co. Entertainment’s exclusive deal at the Burbank, CA studio, will produce alongside Jeff Nathanson. Julie Andrews and Ashok Amritraj will serve as executive producers.

In a mid seven-figure deal, upstart Euro studio Leonine has pre-bought German-speaking rights to Gerard Butler action-thriller Remote Control, which is being sold internationally by STX. This is the biggest deal reported so far at this year’s EFM.

EXCLUSIVE: Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment continues its expansion into television with a live-action adaptation of the acclaimed Japanese manga series Bokurano. The series was created by author Mohiro Kitoh and published by Shogakukan Inc.

Hyde Park has tapped veteran writer Charlie Craig (Pretty Little Liars and Freeform’s The Perfectionists) to be showrunner and executive producer. Amritraj will be executive producer, along with Rob Golenberg. Addison Mehr and Priya Amritraj will co-executive produce for Hyde Park.

Netflix will adapt Nidhi Chanani’s bestselling graphic novel Pashminainto an original CG-animated musical. Netflix has teamed with Gurinder Chadha — the Bend It Like Beckham helmer whose Bruce Springsteen-infused coming of age film Blinded By the Light was a Sundance sensation with a $15 million New Line deal — and producer and Hyde Park Entertainment principal Ashok Amritraj, and Chadha’s long-standing writing partner Paul Mayeda Berges.

Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group has acquired the rights to Greg Grandin’s nonfiction book Fordlandia to develop as a potential television series, with acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog attached to direct. Oscar-nominated Christopher Wilkinson (Gemini Man, Pawn Sacrifice) is writing the series adaptation and will executive produce.

Already the most famous Indian producer in Hollywood, Hyde Park Entertainment founder Ashok Amritraj was honored by the French government on Friday.

At a ceremony in Mumbai, Amritraj was presented with the Knight of the Order of Arts and of Letters (Chevalier de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) medal. Minister of External Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian and France’s ambassador to India, Alexandre Ziegler, presided.

EXCLUSIVE: Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park International has come aboard CJ Entertainment’s horror/thriller remake Hide and Seek, which Joel David Moore adapted and is directing. Cameras roll on Nov. 26 in New York City. Hyde Park is handling all foreign rights.
